A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 24, 2016 at St. John's Abbey Church in Collegeville for John Degiovanni, age 91, of St. Joseph who passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2016 at Quiet Oaks Hospice House in St. Augusta. Reverend Gregory Miller, OSB will officiate. Burial will take place in the Parish Cemetery. John was born on November 2, 1924 in Wisconsin to John and Caterina (Revello) Degiovanni. He served honorably in the United States Army during World War II. John married Lorraine Hemming on May 24, 1947 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Mellen, WI. He worked in maintenance for K.W. McKee Trucking the majority of his life. He was a member of the Rosemount American Legion Post #65 and St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Collegeville. John enjoyed all the time spent with his family. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Lorraine; children, Jim (Mary) of St. Joseph, Tom (Fiona McDonald) of Atlantic Beach, FL; grandchildren, Leigh (Steve) Klaverkamp of Sartell, Katherine (Mark) McDonald of St. Cloud, Joseph (Kristina) Degiovanni; 10 great grandchildren; and extended family and friends. John was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Stan, Fred, and Louis Degiovanni. A Special Thank you to the Staff of Quiet Oaks Hospice House for all the care and support given to John and his family during this time.
